Garrett Serd, MS, RD – Founder & CEO of Tandem Nutrition My clients and friends know me as Coach g. My passion for nutrition and fitness began in 2004 at the age of 16, during my personal battle with anorexia nervosa. It was a fight I knew I couldn’t win alone, but through relentless determination, I committed myself to learning everything I could about nutrition, fitness, and sustainable health. That passion led me to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition & Dietetics from Louisiana Tech University and a Master of Science in Nutrition & Exercise from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where I also became a Registered Dietitian. Additionally, I hold certifications as a Certified Personal Trainer and Certified Wellness Coach through the American College of Sports Medicine.
In 2012, I founded Tandem Nutrition, driven by a mission far greater than myself—to help women break free from restrictive dieting and finally achieve sustainable fat loss. Over the years, my team and I have helped thousands of women transform their bodies, boost their confidence, and regain control of their health through our unique Metabolic Reset System. Every day, I wake up with excitement and purpose, knowing that I have the opportunity to serve and impact lives. Through the relationships God has placed in my path, I’ve been blessed to build an incredible team that shares this same passion. My name is Amelia and I grew up in a small town called Kewanna, Indiana. Growing up in a small town, the only thing to do was enjoy the outdoors! I absolutely loved playing baseball, softball, basketball, and football with the neighborhood kids. Although I always enjoyed physical activity, it wasn’t until college that I began to learn more about the gym!
Stepping out of my comfort zone and going to the gym was one of the best things I ever did for myself. I was able to meet some amazing like-minded people who value health and wellness as much as I did! If it wasn’t for this amazing community, I would not have found my true passion and completed my degree in Nutrition and Wellness. After graduating, I knew I wanted to serve others and educate them on the importance of nutrition, so becoming a health coach seemed like the perfect fit!
As social media was booming and with my title as a health coach, I found myself constantly comparing myself to others and in such a negative place with my mental health and the way I viewed myself. I kept this secret from my family/friends/and loved ones for so long because I felt so embarrassed and ashamed as a health coach to be struggling with this. I finally decided that even as a coach, I needed support and accountability as well. I did some research and came across Tandem Nutrition and was so eager to expand my knowledge in health and fitness, while also reaching my goals! Not only was I able to reach my goals with their amazing support, but was able to truly change my mindset when it came to health and fitness.
A year after hitting and maintaining my progress, Coach g reached out to me to see if I would be interested in being part of the team. I was on cloud nine! Being so passionate about this company, it was truly an honor to have them think of ME to represent them!

Sports and fitness have always been a part of my life, but now I get to share that same love with so many people. I grew up in Cincinnati Ohio and was immediately surrounded with sports, health, and fitness. From the age of 5, I started in organized sports starting out in baseball. That was short-lived, but I found one of my biggest passions in playing football. I played from 8 years old up until I was fortunate enough to play at the University of Cincinnati for 1 year. After finishing my undergrad in Sport Administration and Marketing, I was given the opportunity to work for my hometown team, the Cincinnati Bengals.
Throughout my journey, I have realized that it is 100% normal to ask for help and to let people assist you along the way. Many people have done that for me and that is the favor I wish to return. To lend a helping hand and make a difference in others’ lives so that we can all live our best happy lives. It does not all come at once, but with a good support system and a positive attitude, anything is possible!

My name is Bethany Chrobak. My clients and friends refer to me as Coach BChro or Coach Bethany. I have really been passionate about all things fitness and education for as long as I can remember. I played volleyball, basketball, and ran track throughout middle and high school and went on to play collegiate volleyball. I was our Libero.
Then went on to coaching. I became more and more enticed with nutrition when I had settled down, got married, was out of college, and became a Registered Nurse. I noticed my own health spiraling by pouring into my marriage, my patients, and my work colleagues but lost my way of caring for myself. I got back into the gym and noticed that I wasn’t seeing any progress in getting my weight back off. Then I started trying fad diets, and weight loss pills, and I really struggled with not gaining weight 10x worse. Tandem came into my gym and did a presentation on our program, and I absolutely knew I had to give this a shot. I was so aligned. My only regret was not learning about Tandem sooner. I lost 20+ lbs of body fat and got into better shape than I had been during the time period from me playing volleyball in college. I also was able to motivate my dad, who was being seen by his physician and recommended to start getting insulin shots for becoming diabetic. He didn’t want to get the shot, so I helped him simply walk and get his nutrition under control a bit. He lost about 60 lbs of body fat, went from a HgA1c in the 8s to the 5’s, and found his blood sugars controlled. Then I further realized that as a Nurse, everything I was doing inside the hospital was ‘bandaging or fixing’ already causing problems based on people who lacked lifestyle-based health. I wanted, NO, I NEEDED to impact others in the way that nutrition and fitness had impacted me. That’s when my coach recommended me and I reach out to Tandem to work alongside them to give clients the most educational experience on losing body fat, toning, and keeping off the weight and fat for life!
I primarily work with healthcare professionals as clients. I love working with other Nurses, Physicians, Social Workers, Nurse Practitioners, and everyone in healthcare who care so deeply and compassionately for their patients, but sometimes also have lost their way in caring better for themselves. I enjoy working with other women too, but there’s definitely a special place in my heart for those in our field. We are always fighting the good fight inside and outside the hospital to keep all healthy spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally and medically. My vision and goal through Tandem is to help thousands of healthcare workers and women achieve their health and fitness goals and to let others live in confidence with their growth, health, and love for themselves and lifestyle health.

My name is August Rayce. My clients and friends refer to me as Coach Gus. My interest in health and wellness began at the age of 16 when I took a boxing class at a local fitness studio. I fell in love with the support, community, and self-improvement atmosphere the studio encompassed. This growing passion led me to get a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Kinesiology to kickstart my base of knowledge for my career in the health and wellness industry. My 9-5 job is working as a program and science coordinator at the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). One of my favorite parts of my role at ACSM is I get to work alongside the Exercise is Medicine (EIM) global initiative. The vision of EIM is to make physical activity assessment and promotion a standard in clinical care and connecting health care with evidence-based physical activity resources for people everywhere and of all abilities.
When I am not working at ACSM or connecting with clients at Tandem I am probably at home hanging out with my 10-lb diva of a dog, Petunia, and my husband Zach. We love being outdoors and hanging out with our family and friends.

My name is Andrew Haubert (Haubs as my friends know me) and I grew up just outside of Detroit, MI. I am married to my beautiful and intelligent wife and we have two sons (2.5 years old and a newborn)! I am a former college baseball player and when I had to stop playing due to injury, I began to coach baseball.
With my lack of activity and injury, my habits began to control me instead of the other way around, where I became less active and put on weight. One day, my pain of being overweight and more sedentary was greater than the pain to change so I dove headfirst into the health and fitness world. After losing 50 lbs and changing my mindset around food and exercise, I changed careers and became a trainer. Now I am the head trainer and general manager at a local gym in Detroit and continue to grow my knowledge base in the health field every day. I have worked with hundreds of clients online and in-person to transform their bodies, but more importantly, transform their mindset and habits around health.
I am someone who is always naturally curious and with the dynamic field of nutrition and fitness, I found a profession that is always developing and not afraid to research the best ways to lose fat and gain muscle. For me personally, I have always wondered what had stopped me from looking and feeling the way I wanted to, especially when I stopped playing baseball. This is when I began to get into personal/group training, nutrition, and learning as much as I can about health and the psychology behind weight loss. I found the missing pieces to my health story and now I am passionate about helping others find their missing pieces so they can feel great every day, have more energy, and be confident in their appearance and body.

I’m Coach Lisa! I’m married with 4 children, two beautiful grandchildren and I’m a crazy boxer mom of 4! I’m from Indianapolis, but grew up in Vincennes IN
I’ve struggled with weight ever since I was a child. My stepdad coached wrestling and football so I was always around sports.
Fun fact about me, I broke the school record in shot-put at 12! (I think no one has been able to beat it yet! ) I continued on in track and field throughout high school.
I was probably put on every known diet to man. When I reached my 20’s I weighed over 200 lbs! It was then I decided I had to get my life together. I went on to lose 50-60 pounds.
I started working out seriously 10 years ago because I felt “skinny fat”. However, I started gaining weight back and just thought it was menopause or I was just destined to be overweight.
I met Coach g in 2017. It was then I realized I had been doing everything wrong. Through Tandem Nutrition I lost 40lbs which put me at over a 100 pound weight loss!! It’s been life-changing!
With all my struggles God spoke to me which led me to coaching. I’m so passionate about helping other women with life, menopause, and weight gain. I know how it feels! Your metabolism isn’t broken, it just needs to be lit again!

Hi, everyone! My name is Lee McKinney. I have a wonderful, supportive husband named Chris, and we welcomed our first baby girl in January 2023. My family is my everything. “Mama” is my most favorite title. I love to lift weights, but sometimes, you sure can’t beat binge-watching a good show on the couch!
I have been passionate about health and fitness since my senior year of high school and knew I needed to swap my career focus from a classroom teacher to a health-related career.
After receiving a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Health with a Concentration in Aging from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2016, I managed a gym for 2 years. I knew I wanted more and to use my knowledge and passion to help people. So, I shifted my career to health coaching, and I’ve never looked back! Welcome! My name is Kassidie Houchin and I live in Lafayette, Indiana. I am “Mama” to a 2-year-old little girl, Ava. My boyfriend, Josh, and I have been together for 5 years. We also have a dog named Griffey! My free time is spent with the 3 of them as well as staying active outdoors and in the gym.
Outside of my 9-5, I have been a part-time personal trainer for over 5 years. I decided to become a personal trainer after beginning my own fitness journey. I wanted to help empower others to lead healthier lives. I obtained my Master’s degree in Health Education to help further my education and knowledge in the health and wellness field. Hello! My name is Sara Knowles. I am married to my high school sweetheart, and we have 2 handsome boys and 2 of the cutest, high maintenance, bulldogs. I’m from Indianapolis and have lived here all my life. I graduated from Butler University with a bachelor’s degree in marketing.
I’ve always been active in the gym and enjoy physical activities, especially outdoors, and live an active life with my family. However, I struggled with my nutrition for years and found myself in the vicious cycle of losing weight, unable to maintain it due to unhealthy habits, and then gaining weight right back.
I joined Tandem and went through the Tone Up Total Transformation Nutrition Program for a year and it was absolutely life changing. The program not only transformed my body but improved the way I felt mentally, physically, and emotionally. Howdy! My name is Addie Jackson. I am a dedicated mother to a 3-year-old daughter, a loving wife, and a pet parent to a corgi named Quigley and four cats: Figero, Finnigan, Phurrball, and one without a name yet. In August, my family and I moved back to Indiana after spending three years in Missouri. I am a full-time stay-at-home mother, a business owner, and a proud coach with Tandem Nutrition.
My passion for an active and healthy lifestyle began in my childhood, where I ran track as a sprinter throughout high school and rode horses from the age of 6 months. My love for weightlifting developed in high school, leading me to train for a bikini competition in college, with the guidance of Coach g. Although my first competition ended without participating, the journey continued as Coach g graciously helped me prepare for a second attempt. However, two weeks before stepping on stage, I discovered I was 10 weeks pregnant with my beautiful daughter, who has been a blessing and transformed my life in the best ways.
After her birth, I quickly returned to the gym, eager to model healthy habits for my child. A year later I started facing postpartum depression and anxiety, which led to a cycle of poor nutrition and exhausting exercise. Pulling through mental challenges and exhaustion, I began again, prioritizing my health and returning to a balanced lifestyle.
With my past experience working with clients through Tandem Nutrition and my passion for serving women by empowering them, joining the Tandem Nutrition team was a natural choice. Tandem Nutrition embodies a servant’s heart to help women build sustainable healthy habits, foster a positive relationship with food, and boost their energy and confidence.
